The Locavore Store

Our goal is to connect local people with locally-grown food, by providing a central outlet for our local food producers and craftspeople. With the addition of our online store, we are now able to share these same local harvests and creations with our international community, as well! With our brick-and-mortar location in the heart of downtown Hilo and our online store at your fingertips, we are more accessible than ever.

Selection

We've managed to pack quite the selection into our cozy, little shop. Whether you're looking for quality groceries at great prices or unique, local gifts, we've got you covered. Each week we coordinate with dozens of on-island farmers and artisans to stock our shelves with the best in-season produce and hand-crafted goods we can find. From the choicest seasonal avocados and mangoes to grass-fed meats and pastured eggs, micro-roasted coffees, single-estate teas, wild-harvested sea salts, and artisanal chocolates, our community is proud of its abundance.

While food is our specialty, we've also made room for equally wonderful bath and body products, household goods, and stationery, all of which highlight the uniqueness and beauty of our Hawaiian Islands. During any given week, you can find the offerings of 100+ local families and individuals gracing our shelves and tables.

Sourcing

Since 2010 we have had the pleasure of working directly with hundreds of local families, to create an ever-expanding food hub for and from our community. Everything you'll find at our Hilo shop and in our online store has been made by Hawai'i residents, using Hawai'i-sourced ingredients, materials, and inspiration - making ours an exciting, and sometimes uncommon, collection of all-local, hand-crafted, lovingly-raised and consciously-grown goods.
